The members of Pacific Outrigger are excited to announce a new venue for the Rusty Iron. Frenchman’s Bar is a lush 120-acre regional park located in Clark County on the Columbia River about two miles west of Vancouver Lake Park. It features a wide variety of outdoor recreation opportunities and nicely fits our needs for competitive racing. The expansive beach and play area provides ample room for rigging and play.
Frenchman’s Bar Park gives the following advisories:
• Unguarded beach and river
• Fast currents
• Water depth varies
• Sudden river bed drop-offs
• Swim at your own risk
Prohibited in the park:
• Alcohol/drug possession • Tobacco products • Fires, camping • Glass containers on beach
PNW-ORCA / USACK Event Forms & Waivers
The Rusty Iron is sanctioned by PNW- ORCA and insured by USACK. Race rules, regulations and safety procedures are in accordance with PNW-ORCA and USACK. See rules at www.pnworca.org/racing/officialrules.
All participants must have a current signed PNW-ORCA waiver on file and sign the USACK waiver. Non- members of USACK must pay $10 to USACK and complete an Event-only
form or join USACK, $40 annual fee, and complete membership form. Forms are attached.
Club leader: Please send updated USACK members’ list and PNW- ORCA waivers for new members to Brenda, brencf@comcast.net, prior to this race. Paddlers not on her list will need to fill out the USACK Event-only form and pay $10 to USACK.
